I just want to jump on here real fast to clarify my final statements in the last post. I do not think that Clinton is an unfeeling elitist. For that matter, for all his faults, I don’t really think of McCain that way either. I’m just saying that, were “elitism” a quantifiable entity, perhaps measured in [William F.] Buckley Units, then Obama would have less BUs than either of the other two. I did say that their two positions were “practically definitions of ‘elitism;’” and what I meant by that was this: Despite having pedigrees that mark them as consummate elitists, neither are…and if they’re not, now can Obama be? I emphasized what I wrote in my head differently than it seems to have come out. So there, now you know.
